Abbreviations

  • ch: chain
  • chs: chains
  • ss: slip stitch
  • mc: magic circle
  • sc: single crochet
  • dc: double crochet
  • blo: back loop only

Using Reef 


NOTE: Use a double strand of yarn (I pull the end of yarn out from the center of skein and use other end that is wrapped around the outside).

  • START: ch 6, ss into first ch to form a ring
  • Round 1: ch 2 then put 13 dc into center of ring, ss into the beginning ch 2 (13)
  • Round 2: ch 2, 2dc in each st around, ss into the beginning ch 2 (26)

  • Round 3: ch 2, dc in every st around, ss into the beginning ch 2 (26)
  • Rounds 4-12: ch 1, sc in 25 sts, turn (25)

  • Round 13: ch 1, work in blo, ss in every st (25) 
  • Now you're going to ch 14 (this will be the loop that wraps around the handle to secure the cozy in place)
  • Now ss into the corner between rounds 3-4, then ss into 3 sts across and ss in the other corner

  • Ch 14 again and ss into the top corner, cut a 6" tail and weave it in

Leave a 12" tail before you make the mc, you'll use this later to sew it onto the cozy.

  • Round 1: make a mc then ch 2 and put 12 dc in the center of the ring (12)
  • Round 2: Now join Butter yarn in the back loop of the next st and ch 4
    • Sc in 2nd ch from hook, then hdc in next 2 chs
    • Ss into the same st where you started
    • Repeat this all the way around then ss in the back loop of the first petal you made

  • Cut 6" tails of the Butter and knot them together on the back 
  • Now grab your SHARP POINT embroidery needle and sew the brown part onto the cozy
